Allotypy of high density lipoprotein of rabbit serum.
نویسندگان
چکیده
A common antigenic polymorphism of high density lipoprotein (HDL) in rabbit serum is described. The presence or absence of an antigen termed Hl 1 appears to be controlled by autosomal dominant inheritance. The polymorphism should be a useful tool in the study of serum lipoproteins, particularly since genetic polymorphisms within the low density lipoprotein are already known in several species. The Hl polymorphism may make the rabbit more useful for model studies of serum lipoproteins in health and disease.

Serum Lipid Profile Alterations in Acute Leukemia Before and After Chemotherapy
Background: Serum lipids abnormalities have been observed in various forms of cancers including acute leukemia. Investigators report decreased total cholesterol and HDL, and elevated triglyceride in leukemic patients. Limited studies had been performed to discover the correlation between abnormal lipids profile and disease activity in leukemic patients in Iran. This study was done to evaluate t...
متن کاملThe Effect of Eight Weeks of High-intensity Interval Training on Lipoprotein-associated Phospholipase A2 and Lipid Profile in a Male Rat Model of Type 2 Diabetes
Introduction: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) causes hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, and dyslipidemia, which are all risk factors for atherosclerosis. Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) has been recognized as an indicator of atherosclerosis due to its role in vessel inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the effect of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on serum levels of Lp-PL...
متن کاملEffects of Dietary Chitosan on Serum Lipid and Lipoprotein Concentration in Rats
Because the ingestion of some types of dietary fibers has been shown to influence on the lipid and lipoprotein levels, it is possible that chitosan influences on lipid metabolism. In the present study, the effects of chitosan on the serum, liver lipid and lipoprotein concentrations in rat were investigated. Serum lipid level in the treatment groups were decreased compared to that of the control...
متن کاملEffect of Optional Consumption of Iranian Black and Green Tea on Lipid Profile of Serum and Liver in High-Fat Diet Rats
Objective: Tea, camellia sinensis, which is used as a popular beverage in Iran, may reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases suchas coronary heart disease (CHD). In this investigation, we studied the effect of Iranian black and green tea on serum and liver lipid profile which is closely associated with obesity and many cardiovascular diseases. Materials and Methods: 24 male adult Wistar rats...

Idiotypy shares with allotypy the characteristic that antigenic specificities proper to it in one category of proteins, as one given class of immunoglobulins, are not carried by the protein molecules of this category in all the individuals of the same animal species. But, in contrast to allotypy which has been observed in several other kinds of proteins after its discovery among immunoglobulins...
